Introduction:

Venture creation idea to think about. I credit this idea to my friend Dan Knipmeyer whom I have met in the class ECE410 Digital Signals Processing. He won the the recent Idea2Product (I2P) pitch competition with his start up idea in the biomedical space. This is why this idea has its technical background in digital signals processing and biomedical instrumentation.

Problem:

When you are ill and feel physical PAIN, it is a biological response to telling you that something is wrong with your health. Identifying the physical position and degree of pain from patient feedback is an important diagnosis process for the doctor to determine whats wrong with you. However, the feeling of pain is very personal and it is very hard to convey it in a quantitative way. Moreover, for patients who are not as self aware of their body response (i.e. Children). The diagnosis process is a big problem.

Solution:

The solution is to create a software/ web application that use digital signals processing techniques to create a density map of pain by using existing hardware (that are already in the bio instrumentation market) to record bio potential impulse readings. The challenge is to filter out the raw data to get useful information about pain and creating a “Pain density Map” of the body to help in diagnosis.

Conclusion:
This idea is motivated by literally trying to solve the customers’ PAIN. Since the product would be a software/ web application. We can leverage on the internet to scale the business. Leave your comments and let me know what you think!
